Martin Luther King : du théâtre en anglais

We went on a school trip on the 23rd March 2016.
We went to l’Espace Florian in Chateauneuf sur Loire, we left school at 9 o’clock and we got there by bus. We arrived half an hour later.
We were about 40 pupils with the 2EURO and 1EURO and TEURO. Teachers and Lucy, our English assistant accompanied us.
The title of the play was « America, Dreams and Nightmares », it lasted 1 hour and 45 minutes approximatly. There were 6 actors on stage,  blacks and  white men were represented with white masks on their faces.
The play is about the story of Martin Luther King, he was a minister. He wanted to help black people to be equal with the White people. He heard about Rosa Parks who didn’t want to let her seat to a white man.
He said a famous speech « I have a dream » to defend black people in 1963.
He was assassinated 5 years after his famous speech.
We liked the play a lot, the actors played very well their roles, and it was very interesting because it was a real story. Sometimes, it was funny !
Unfortunatly, the stage was empty, some decorations were missing and sometimes they spoke fast with a strong accent !
But we had a very nice time !
